Be careful when you say to yourself that you can't understand why your parents can't relate to you and how older members of society just can't deal with change.  The generational gap can be daunting, though, our thoughts and perceptions and desire for attention and self-worth linger on.  What outward things do you do to gain attention? If either involve wearing a white tuxedo or having long black hair, these pictures may be yours'.

C.S. Lewis & Chronicles of Narnia - The True Story of the Author of the Classic Tale

Coming to you now after a long siesta from xanga posting.  I think I figured that most people stop reading xanga as I have been prone to do.  But I catch myself every once in a while checking to see who has posted and what is going on.  Finals are next week.  Study early and avoid the stress and frustration of the week.  I love finals week though because you are so close to going home and actually the week is pretty relaxing.  All you have to work on is studying and you have only a couple tests each day and sometimes no trsts.  I really do enjoy the week.

Alana and I went to see Narnia last night and surprisingly found a ton of our friends; so we sat next to them.  I love C.S. Lewis because of his ability to take profound concepts and relate them to life.  Some people do not appreciate him because so many, when giving a devo, preaching, or any other time they need a cool little story, will whip out Lewis.  Some people say he is all theological and heavy.  Are you kidding me?  His work touches where theology does not.  He says the things that many Christians experience but often do not realize or gloss over.  I really do enjoy his work.  I recomend the movie, or book to anyone looking for a great message and plot and anyone who wants just a good experience.

Congratulations to Josh and Katie on your engagement.

Good luck on finals everyone and I have a safe trip if I do not get to see you!

Hey everyone,

I am sorry it has been a long time since I have posted.  I just got facebook and that has occupied my time slot for Trivial Computer Interaction Time (TCIT.)  Things have been going great from my perspective.  Alana and I got to spend a nice relaxing dinner last night together; our time together has been limited due to conflicting schedules so I really do look forward to the weekend.  Last weekend I painted my first faux finish on Jackie's apartment walls in Little Rock.  I love her apartment because it looks like a downtown art studio apartment with large walls to hang artwork.  I would envy to have a place like that.  The faux finish turned out alright even though we did not use the glaze that they gave us because Jackie did not find it until after we left (thats how things go.)

I am so bogged down with work to be done but I am going at a good pace I think. I do miss pleasure reading.  Alana's parents gave me a new book about Louis and Clark by Stephen Ambrose and I do not have time to read it because I have about 13 books I am soon going to be sifting through for my early US research paper, a comparitive book review of the Medici family, and numerous other assignments and exams.  Whoa . . . pray for me and everyone else overwhelmed with work.

Well that is what is going on in a nutshell.  I am blessed to live the way I do, with the freedom I have, with the people around me that encourage the best of me to come out. Have a great weekend!

Prestonian08: you are on?
LaymenMan: no, this is just a figment of your imagination
Prestonian08: ohh
Prestonian08: what does it feel like to be a figment?
Prestonian08: of my imagination
LaymenMan: kinda of like a fragment
Prestonian08: a fragment of what?
LaymenMan: of your imagination
Prestonian08: what is the rest of the imagination doing and how did you get separated?
LaymenMan: it's a long story, but this kind of thing happens to me all the time so I'm used to it
Prestonian08: are there many fragments?
LaymenMan: depends on how fragmented your mind is at the time
Prestonian08: most of the time it is pretty fragmented
LaymenMan: well there you go then
Prestonian08: indeed
LaymenMan: indeed
